Today is 29 weeks!

I don't really have any updates today. I am just anticipating Monday and how busy it will be around here. I get to pee-pee in a cup, draw blood and get another ultrasound. Not to mention the "Chunky Chick" weigh in for the High Risk Prego Unit. YAY! I am looking forward to my weight. I don't like weighing in on different doctors scales because the accuracy just can't be right. For instance, at Maternal Fetal Specialists on Tuesday, I weighed 162 lbs. Ummmm, doubtful. I find it completely hard to believe that I gained 10 lbs in one week. So I am anxious to know what my "vacation home" scales will tell me.

I made the mistake of checking on what the insurance company was paying for with the convenient online status updates. Well, lets just say we are in the WRONG business. Everytime a doctor steps one foot in my room, cha-ching, cha-ching!!! It is amazing how much it costs for one doctor to say "everything looks the same just hang in there."

When the neo-natal doctor came to my room one Sunday and told us about all the bad things that could happen to premature babies, he was here for 5 minutes. He ran through his speech and left. CHA-CHING!!! It cost $188.00 for 5 minutes of his time. AMAZING! I just wanted to say that I had already read what he said and watched some stuff on the glorified Patient Channel here at the hospital that was FREE!

Dr. Johnson from Maternal Gynerations, my OBGYN office, came in today and woke me up just to say that everything looks fine with my scans and blood pressure. Well, duh, I know everything looks fine because I am told by the people that are performing these things everyday. I don't need your $800.00 bill to tell me again. She pressed on my belly in 3 different spots and checked my legs and feet for swelling. How much will that cost me?

It just amazes me and reminds me why I am expecting to spend my girls college tuition by being here. But in the end, I will have girls that WILL have a college tuition.

My spirits are coming around I believe. I have enough energy to complain yet again. And I have had a blizzard the last two nights....wonderful. Also, the lady that was next door that had been here for 3 months, had her babies earlier this week. She is doing good. I believe she gets to go home today.

Ohhhh, I almost forgot to tell you about the 12 lbs PLUS baby in the nursery last night. Oh my goodness, that was the biggest baby I have ever seen. His chest was bigger around than his head. He is a beast. Nope, he was not a C-section baby. She won't walk for weeks after delivering that massive chunk. They need to take back all the newborn clothes and start putting him in 3-6 month clothes. HUGE BABY!

I have a new nurse today. She has been out for a while on medical leave. She informed me this morning that she just came back last weekend and heard about me. Now, she didn't elaborate but she did hear of my "famous escape." And then she was told this morning about my return. I have made an impact here on this floor, talk of the floor I guess.

Enough rambling, I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone for all that they have done for me and Richard and these sweet yet stubborn girls. So many people care for us and it shows. Many have just come here to spend time with me or bring me outsiders food. Some have helped Richard with the destruction and construction at home. Not to mention all of the activities that were brought to me to pass the time. All of the words of encouragement and cards in the mail are beyond wonderful. I want to especially thank our parents for all that you have done. It truly is too much to mention all the things you have done for us. Our grandparents have been a tremendous help here and at home. It is just amazing all the people that have done things for us that we have never met. My mom's coworkers have been great in that helping hand. And it is still amazing to me that people take time from their lives to come visit during the week. We have wonderful friends and family. I consider our soon to be family very blessed to have so many great people looking out for us. We love you!

Thank you so much for all that you have done.

  3. You express yourself very well and you are very articulate. I am sure you can communicate with your doctors and get the answers that you need. Keep up the good work of growing those baby girls.
