The Summer's Family has been busy busy this last week or so. We have been on the go so much lately. We are looking forward to a lazy weekend. Well, lazy being that we are taking the girls clothes shopping. We are going to get big girl pajamas and maybe some shoes and more clothes. I doubt we can just come home with pjs. We will see how that goes and if you think I am bad with the cute clothes...Richard is worse. Last night I mentioned we needed to do that and as I am walking away I hear him ask, "Are they gonna be cute pajamas?" Well, of course, Mr. Summers, they will be the cutest!
Last Wednesday, little Miss Brooklyn decided walking was a cool this to try. She took several steps as I was getting my hair cut in the next room. Therefore, I did not see her take these wonderful steps. Boo! But my hair looks amazing. She refused to do it again for me when I was done with my hair. Silly Turd! But it was a huge moment in that these little girls are growing up too fast. She hasn't really done much stepping since then. Just a step here and there.
Last night, big Miss Quinn decided that she wanted to join the walking club. She was so excited to walk. As she was taking those steps, she looked as if she was the happiest ever. The look on her face as she took those steps. She had her tongue curled to the side of her mouth like she was concentrating so hard but the glow on her face was priceless. She knew she was doing something big time. She walked like she had been doing it for weeks. Then she would look down and just sit down. It was amazing.
They are going to be the tiniest little walkers ever!
I went to visit my brother this past weekend in Charlotte and Richard had the girls all to himself this weekend. He had those girls everywhere. They went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, watch a softball tourney at lunch, swimming around dinner and just hung around waiting on me to get home on Sunday. Apparently, they had a good and busy weekend. They got to swim with their Aunts, Uncles, and cousins on Saturday. Richard said that when he got there, the girls were taken away and he prepared food but other than that...the family played with the girls. They still love the water...little fish!
We are experiencing some favoritism at our house right now. Funny how that works when you have two little girls the same age. Brooklyn is becoming "THE DADDY'S GIRL." And Quinn is loving on her Momma and being the "MOMMA'S GIRL." Brooklyn just wants her Daddy to hold her and love on her. Quinn will bulldoze anything in her way to get to me. Yesterday, Richard went in the house before me when we got home from work. He got the usual yelling from the girls showing their excitement. But when Momma walked through the door, Quinn took off to me. I had to wash my hands so I couldn't pick her up. Richard held her til I washed my hands and she then practically jumped in my arms. Ahhh. Great feeling to be needed and wanted. She just wants me. She seems to only want Richard when he is playing with Brooklyn. You know I would probably be a bit upset but since it is split...it is only fair.
I could say that I do get the attention from the more loving baby, but Brooklyn really loves on Richard. Usually she doesn't give as much hugs and kisses as Quinn does but when it comes to her Daddy. Last night, she had her head on his shoulder (it was bed time) and with her left hand rubbing his arm. It was like she was comforting him before he put her to bed. She cracks me up acting so grown.
Quinn will pat and rub Brooklyn's back when she is laying on their Princess couch. I have nicknamed her Mother Quinn. She seems to comfort Brooklyn many times.
All in all...these little girls are growing up and I am tickled to watch them grow. And even more tickled to be able to share that with everyone. They are great babies and even better daughters.
