From Pregnancy to Birth then onto the NICU

01-25-11

I suppose my angels couldn't stay angelic for long. They have learned a bit of an attitude. If you take something from Quinn, she pitches a royal fit. She arches that back and gives you the biggest frown and then starts screaming at you. SASSY! My goodness the girl has some attitude. She is becoming a handful. Between her army crawling all over the place, aggravating Toby, rolling so  you can't change her diaper, screaming when she doesn't get her way. She is a spunky mess!

Brooklyn still has a sweet nature. She is just so laid back. I might of had her pegged wrong for being feisty one. They are so ever changing that I don't really know what will stick with them. But we have to teach that girl how to defend herself. Quinn will bully her and take toys from her. Quinn will literally snatch the toy from her hands and Brooklyn will find something else to play with for the time being. Then once Brooklyn finds another toy that she likes Quinn will take that one from her. She will then get back the other toy Quinn took from her. It is a vicious cycle and Quinn rules that game. Brooklyn just lets her do whatever she wants and doesn't seem to mind. I hope she learns to fight back soon. Richard said tonight that Quinn is more like me and Brooklyn is like him...laid back and calm just going with the flow. What am I gonna do with that sweetheart. How can I toughen her up and keep her sweet at the same time.

We go to the doctor on Thursday for nine month checkup. I am concerned with their continued fluctuation of weight so we will see what Dr. Pitts suggests. Quinn hit the bit 14 lbs this evening. Brooklyn checked in at 12. 14lbs. They just don't seem to be growing. I sometimes wonder how that reflects me. I feel like I feed them as much as they can take at one time. We will see what happens. Maybe I am not pushing their bellies enough.

On a great note, they are finally pulling up on all fours. They will stay on ally fours and jump back and forth. Finally all the physical therapy seems to be paying off. Pretty soon, we may have some crawlers on our hands. God bless me please. I find it hard to keep Quinn in line and she is just army crawling.

I think we are about to graduate to the big girl bath tub. They have out grown the sink tub. I have been shopping for a seat or tub, for lack of a better word, that fits in the big tub to help them sit without slipping. I can find some for single babies. For instance, the blow up duckies that you put in the big tub and set them in to bath them. Thing is that I am not sure both babies will fit in the tub. I will keep searching and hope to find something that I think will work for us.

They are just growing up so fast. We are entering a new size in clothing. Yep, my nine month old twins are now wearing six month clothes. Or at least we are trying too. The six month clothes are still a little big for Quinn and a bigger for Brooklyn. We have got to get some meat on their bones.

So I am so excited to be joining the March for Babies. I hope to build my team and get lots of members. We have a goal to raise $1000.00. I really want that to be possible. If you are interested, join the team and make a donation. Then come out to walk with me on April 15th. It will be the day after the girls birthday and it would be a great way to honor them and all other babies born prematurely.
