Well, Brooklyn has successfully gotten her first ear infection. Three weeks ago, she was running a fever so we took her to the dr and she got her some antibiotics. We had to cancel her first trip to Alabama. I didn't want to leave home just in case her fever got worse. The doctor said it was amazing and rare that neither one of them have gotten an ear infection yet. She finished her antibiotics and got all better. Unfortunately, the antibiotics gave her a yeast rash on her goot. So that was no fun. She was is so much pain when we would change her diaper. She would just scream as soon as we laid her down. She knew what was coming. Poor baby.
We have lots more teefies coming in. They are just sprouting up everywhere in those little mouths. And they are really putting those choppers to use. Quinn will crawl after Brooklyn with her mouth open as if she is ready to take a bite out of Brooklyn. It makes us all nervous!
I have a few bruises to prove their jaws are quite strong. It took one bruise on myy should about 3 weeks to heal. They get chompy when they are really tired.
Both girls are crawling on all fours now. It is exciting to watch them change daily. They are quick, very very quick. If you don't watch out, they will be under your feet in the next room and you may step on them. It is ridiculous how fast they are at crawling. I think I am seriously nervous for them to start walking. We are in the process of babyproofing our home. JOY! They are going going going going going and going. Never stopping at all. They remind me of the Energizer Bunny. It seems like if it is a toy they are supposed to be playing with...it isn't worth playing with it. They love the things that aren't their toys.
Brooklyn still doesn't talk or make noises that are even close to DaDa or anything. Quinn is finally realizing that DaDa is actually Richard. She melts his heart when she looks at him and says DaDa! He is like a little kid just as giddy as he can be. Meanwhile, I get no love in the MaMa department. I was holding out for Brooklyn to say it first but that girl refuses to try! She still chirps like a little bird. It is her "signature" sound. I love it and it makes me smile and laugh! She will work out a word in due time. For now, she remains our "Little Bird."
Their personalities are just blooming. And they are totally different. Brooklyn has such a stern aurora about her. She will stare you down and analyze you without cracking a smile. You have to truly earn her favor and her smile. She just gives you this "you are ridiculous" look. It makes you feel a weebit inferior. It is so hard to explain. She just reminds me of, well, ME! She can cut you with her looks sometimes.
Then you have "Grinning Quinn!" You just have to look at her and she is all smiles. She laughs all the time. She actually wants to make you laugh. Needless to say, she will warm up to you much quicker than Brooklyn. She seems like just a free spirit.
They are learning what "NO" means. Lord knows they hear it all the time. Quinn actually hears it about twice as much as Brooklyn. She is a handful. Quinn is constantly ticking Brooklyn off by taking her toys right out of her hands. Brooklyn has become more vocal about her dislike for her sister when she does this nonsense. She just starts screaming. She has a little bit of a temper and I think some days her fuse is extra short. She gets snappy with Quinn and slams her ands down and yells and quick short scream. Seriously, if she knew how to afflict pain with a punch, she would wale on Quinn. This is just the beginning!
Let me just tell you, Brooklyn is a boogie woogie master. That girl will dance all day long if her little legs would hold her up! She is constantly shaking that tush! And she loves it and wants you to laugh at her when she does it! I think it is the best thing ever! She just cracks us up with her dancing energy!
I can't wait to start walking for March of Babies. I have learned of a young couple who have had premature twins on March 5th. Please pray for Ryder and Everley. They are going through a vital time right now and need all the prayers we can give them. Both are on a ventilater and Miss Everley had surgery today to repair a hole in her intestines. She is stable and the surgery went well. Please pray for the family also. Unfortunately, I know exactly what they are going through and wish I could make it all better.
And an update on Nana Anna: baby Gage is doing better. The fluid doesn't seem to be getting worse and he has a strong heartbeat. Anna keeps getting positive reports from the doctors. Please keep the prayers coming for littleman Gage and his parents!
