I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We certainly did have a great Christmas. We were able to get back into our house to enjoy Christmas. We just a one more bathroom to paint and to paint the ceiling in the kitchen. We are the proud owners of new pipes! Yay! Hopefully, we will not have any problems with them again.
The girls had a great time at Christmas. We had to clean house with their toys to make room for the other toys. And we still haven't opened all the toys from Christmas.
The girls got to meet Santa and have their picture made with him. It turned out better than I thought. Brooklyn was skeptical as always but didn't freak out. Quinn was all about loving on Santa and gave him kisses.
We got some Christmas presents that have turned out to be slightly lethal. Imagine this....an angry little girl that isn't getting what she wants equals something whizzing by your head. These little sweetie pies can throw a dangerous tantrum. They got a teapot for Christmas....it was the weapon of choice for a few weeks. If one of them got mad, they would hit the other in the head with the teapot. OUCH!!!
We are almost ready for potty training. They will be napping and have dirty panties and decide they don't want to nap with dirty panties. So they will take their pants off and then take their diapers off. This has happened several times and I can only think of one time that the panties were just pee pee panties. Yes, it is poo panties that is removed and thrown around. I laughed so hard when Brittany called and told me the first time it happened. I was glad it was her and not me! Then a few days later, it came to bite me in the booty! This time Brooklyn decided to grace us with a poop bed! I am collecting so many stories for these little girls.
We have to lock the deadbolt now during the day. Quinn is attempting to open the door. She just can't get enough leverage to turn the knob. I must put the child proof knobs on the door but I am settling with the deadbolt for now. I am just glad we do not have the lever knobs. We were at a friends house for a Christmas party and I closed all the doors to keep them from going into bedrooms and bathrooms. Quinn figured out that she could open the doors because she didn't need as much leverage to pull the lever down. That smart and determined girl had me on my toes that night!
They are currently obsessed with shoes and socks. They want them on their feet and love wearing our shoes around the house. One day I was at work and my sock felt odd so I removed my shoe and sock. Nothing was in my sock so I felt in my shoe, jackpot. I found pieces of chicken from dinner the night before. It was stuffed in my shoe. Thank you girls!
They are just too much fun. Quinn has discovered her love for hats. She has a baseball hat from the Gwinnett Braves that she insists on wearing all day and night. Only thing is that she will ONLY wear it backwards. And she puts it on perfect. We didn't teach her how to put it on and she is a pro already. She looks adorable but has been mistakened for a boy....it is a blue baseball hat. Did I mention it was way too small now? I am in search for another baseball hat that won't mistaken her gender. However, it has to be perfect. Brooklyn could care less. Quinn wearing her hat backwards iscausing problems when she is in her car seat. One day she fell asleep in her carseat and her head was pushed forward because of the bill of her hat. So I removed the hat and she freaked out. Finally she figured a way to wear the hat and sleep at the same time, she turns her head to the side to sleep.
I am a firm believer that the worlds best comedians are children. They are so funny and laugh at each other all the time. If one laughs, the other laughs just because. I know I have mentioned their excessive flatulence. Now, it is hilarious to them. Sometimes they really put on a show. One day Quinn sat on my face while I was laying in the floor and tooted. She thought it was so funny. They will stand up in the bathtub and toot...then laugh hysterically. I am nervous what may follow those toots so I hurry to get done bathing for fear of a replay from a scene in CaddyShack!
We went to the GI doctor last week. He made some new revelations during his exam. Brooklyn has a heart murmur. He said it seemed as though it was a natural murmur and nothing to worry about at all. Both girls have what seems to be an enlarged liver. He couldn't elaborate too much with that detail but will do an ultrasound to examine it more. We have to take poop samples and count calories for three days and give some blood for additional tests. He is testing to see if they are absorbing all the nutrients they are taking in with the foods they eat. He is also testing them for Celiac Disease. So please keep them in your prayers. We hope they are just small and nothing is wrong with them. But the doctor seems to think they are not absorbing the required nutrients considering the foods we are feeding them. We are mixing their foods with cream cheese, sour cream, butter and lots of cheese to add some good fats for them. It isn't working! We still haven't got to the 20 lbs mark. Quinn weighed 19 lbs 13 oz 31.75 inches tall and Brooklyn weighed 18 lbs 31 inches tall I do believe.
I will say that counting calories for 21 month old twins that fling food, refuse to eat if you feed them and love to feed each other is IMPOSSIBLE! I hope our numbers are as accurate as they can get because I do not want to do this again. So keep us in your prayers.
