So I just got a text from Nana Anna. She was telling me that Brooklyn made her cry...in a good way. My first thought was that the girl is already taking after her Momma and being mean. Apparently, Brooklyn was being fussy and Nana Anna laid her down on the play mat next to Quinn. Brooklyn immediately stopped fussing. She looked over to Quinn and a huge smile came across her face. Anna said that she just witnessed a true bond between the girls. She just started crying.
We have always believed that they know when the other isn't in the swing next to them. If one baby is squirming and the other is comatosed, and you pick up the squirming baby, the one in a coma starts whining. It never fails! It is like you have broken their bond by taking one baby out of the bed. When they are in their swings it is the same issue. It really is just an amazing bond that only twins can understand and we can just sit back in awe.
I truly hope that they keep their bond. We all have ups and downs with siblings and I hope they will always have that special and undeniable bond that will always bind them together no matter what the distance is between them. At this point, I am so amazed that I don't think I will mind if they start ganging up on me. Please remind me of that when my house is boobie trapped by them and they are tag teaming against me. I am giddy at the thoughts, actually. I can't wait. I have been reading another ladies blog that has twin girls and just learning of their bonds excites me. I CAN'T WAIT!
Last night, the four of us fell asleep on the couch at about 8:00pm. We woke up about 11:00pm and fed the girls. They stayed awake for another hour and We all went to bed about 1:00am. At 2:30am, Brooklyn was squirming and acting like she was hungry. I started warming some formula for the both of them and would wait to wake up Quinn. Well, sure enough, I got Brooklyn out to change her diaper and Quinn started squirming. Bond broken! So I got Quinn out to and changed her diaper. Just as soon as I was done changing their diapers, they were back to sleep. I tried to feed Brooklyn and that girls lips were sealed shut. So I put them back to bed and they slept til 6:00am. To top it off, it was NOT bath night. On bath night, they sleep more because they are so worn out from the baths. I am seeing a glimpse of hope...a glimpse of a couple of cuties sleeping all night long. I never thought this time would arrive. I even lost hope when Brooklyn started that medication and I figured she would never sleep all night. I have heard that cereal before bed makes them sleep longer. I patiently await cereal for dinner. YAY!!!
Yep, water works it is. It is so amazing, they are just simply miracles. What an inspiration and an imapact they have on me an soo many people. Nana Anna is God given- she adores them and it shows :)
